Irwin Union Bank on Highway 50 in Carson City is changing hands.

A press release issued by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation said the bank's deposits and most of its assets have been purchased by First Financial Bank of Ohio.

The Carson City branch will reopen for business as First Financial Bank Monday morning.

Irwin Financial Corporation of Indiana, parent company of Irwin Union, has a total of $2.7 billion in assets and operates 27 locations. It has two Nevada branches, in Las Vegas and Carson City.

An FDIC press release said bank customers will automatically become First Financial customers but can continue writing checks and using ATM and debit cards issued by Irwin Union in the meantime. The release said loan customers should continue to make payments as usual.

Customers with questions about the status of their accounts or the purchase can call the FDIC toll-free number: 800-528-4893.
