LAS VEGAS - A judge agreed to postpone trial for Nevada Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki and a top aide until December to give defense lawyers and prosecutors time to file pretrial motions.

Clark County District Court Judge Valerie Adair on Monday agreed to reset the date from Oct. 12 to Dec. 14.

Defense lawyers are expected to seek dismissal of felony criminal charges against Krolicki and his chief of staff, Kathryn Besser.

The state attorney general's office contends that while he was state treasurer, Krolicki and Kathy Besser misappropriated about $6 million in fees earned by the state's college savings program by not depositing it in state accounts.

Both have pleaded not guilty, and officials say the funds have been accounted for.
