RENO (AP) - Health officials have confirmed Washoe County's first swine flu-related death.
The Washoe District Health Department said Wednesday that the woman who died had underlying health conditions and she was between 25 and 49 years old.
Washoe District health officials say they do not plan to release any further information on the case.
The county reports that 123 new cases of swine flu occurred in the week that ended Saturday. There have been 646 swine flu cases in Washoe County since April 29, the county says, and nearly half of those sickened by the illness have been between the ages of 5 and 18 years old.
