Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Aaron Patrick Lane, 34, a food service worker from Carson City, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 3700 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor domestic battery. He allegedly spanked his 2-year-old son, leaving a bruise across the child's buttocks and upper legs. Bail was set at $8,132.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• A rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle on Diamond Avenue sometime before 10:54 a.m.

• A cell phone was stolen from a vehicle on Mountain Street.

• A grandmother reported at 5:10 p.m. her 6-year-old grandson was chasing a dog that was loose and she couldn't find him after searching a half hour. A 5:22 p.m. deputies located the child unharmed.

• A mother called police at 6:15 p.m. after her 15-year-old son took his brother's television and threw it off the roof. Her son was arrested.

• A radio and iPod were stolen from a vehicle on Myles Way sometime Tuesday night.

• A deputy shot and killed a deer on North Carson Street at Robinson Street after the animal was struck by a car at 10:22 p.m.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Arrest on Highway 50 East in Mound House at 12:51 a.m.

• Report of three vehicles burglarized on Highway 95 Alternate in Fernley near the raceway.

• Report of a quad stolen from the 10000 block of Highway 50 East in Mound House.
