A piece of steel from the World Trade Center could be coming to Carson City to be used as a memorial in Mills Park to those who died in 9/11.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors will consider approving and signing a letter Thursday to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey requesting that a piece of debris from the World Trade Center be shipped to Carson City.

Also to be considered:

• An ordinance requiring bear-proof containers in the city.

• Authorizing removal of a portion of a sound wall along the North Carson Crossing commercial development area to increase visibility and business access.

• Lowering sewer and water connection fees builders pay to hook up services on new construction.

• Appointing three members to the airport authority.

The board meets at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. For information, call 887-2100.
