Resorts announce 2010-11 rates

Numerous Lake Tahoe ski resorts are offering early bird specials on season passes for 2010-11.

Alpine and Homewood

JMA Ventures, which owns both Alpine Meadows Ski Resort and Homewood Mountain Resort, has announced its 2010-11 season pass prices, starting with the $339 Midweek-Plus-Sunday pass, which is valid at both mountains and valid on Saturdays before Dec. 25, 2010 and after March 12, 2011. The two mountains also offer a slightly "filtered" adult pass for both mountains for $459, with several blackout dates at Alpine, and an "unfiltered" dual mountain pass for $699.

Squaw Valley USA

Squaw Valley USA's season passes start at $369 for the bronze pass and go up to $1,599 for the platinum pass. Prices last until May 9.

Boreal Mountain Resort

Boreal Ski Resort will offer adult anytime passes for $239 and night passes for $129. The prices are valid until April 4.

Diamond Peak

In Incline Village, Diamond Peak Ski Resort is offer full adult passes for next season at a cost of $454 with beginner passes costing $109, only valid for the Lodgepole and Schoolhouse lifts.

Heavenly

In South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Ski Resort will offer its Heavenly pass for $339. The pass is blacked out Nov. 26 and 27, Dec. 27-31 and Feb. 19-20, 2011.

Northstar and

Sierra-at-Tahoe

Northstar-at-Tahoe and Sierra-at-Tahoe resorts have announced their Double Whammy passes, including the unlimited, which costs $699 before April 30, and the limited pass, with 10 blackout dates at Northstar, which costs $459 before April 30. The Northstar Monday-Friday pass is $269 and the Sierra Sunday-Friday pass is $199.

Royal Gorge

Royal Gorge Cross Country's passes will cost $375 if purchased before June 15 and $425 if purchased between June 16 and Sept. 15. Children's passes are $125 before June 15 or $140 before Sept. 15.

Sugar Bowl

Sugar Bowl resort's passes, which go on sale April 5, start at $299 for the CORE Midweek Plus pass, valid Monday-Friday excluding holidays. The Summit Sunday pass, valid Sunday-Friday, is $399, and the unrestricted pass costs $799.

Kirkwood

Kirkwood Ski Resort's passes are on sale, and the premium pass will cost $599 with the 5Wood Monday-Friday pass at $199.

Mount Rose

Mount Rose Ski Resort has announced its spring passes, which cost $433 and are valid now through the 2010-11 season.

Others

In Tahoe City, Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area's 2010-11 season passes cost $219 for adults and $49 for dogs.

Tahoe Donner Cross Country and Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area have not yet released their rates for next season, but a spokesman said they will offer a combined downhill and cross country pass for next season.
