Tarkanian: the consistent conservative

We have come to a point in politics where elected representatives who constantly switch sides cannot be trusted. If we have no idea how our representatives are going to represent us on the issues from day to day, how can we trust them? Why not elect an individual who may say things that you disagree with, but who takes risks, is consistent on the issues and doesn't leave you wondering if they will change their mind yet again tomorrow?

In our Republican primary race for U.S. Senate, it is becoming increasingly clear that Sue Lowden is the former and Danny Tarkanian the latter. For example, Sue Lowden was one of Harry Reid's earliest supporters, labeling Reid a "Reagan Blue Dog Democrat." I'm sure President Reagan would be thrilled to be associated with one of the co-authors of socialized health care.

Tarkanian's platform, on the other hand, is extremely clear. From his purist stance on the Second Amendment to his unwavering belief in limited government, there is a clear common denominator of Tarkanian's stand on the issues - conservative. Not liberal conservative, conservative liberal, independent conservative or any other watered-down version of a Republican.

Conservatives seeking to elect a representative they can trust with values that they know have one choice in this race, Danny Tarkanian. After all, it doesn't take much imagination to envision Reid's biggest talking point in a Reid/Lowden race - "If you are so against my policies and everything I stand for, why did you keep voting for me?"
