LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Supreme Court has reprimanded a lawyer for a misleading advertising campaign.
The court says Anthony Lopez Jr. "grossly misstated the law" in the Spanish radio ad that ran on stations in Reno and Las Vegas.
The commercial told listeners they had the right to receive at least $15,000 if they have an auto accident.
Lopez told a panel of the State Bar of Nevada's Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board that the ad had been intended to inform the public of the $15,000 minimum insurance requirements for drivers. The panel rejected the argument.
The panel recommended the reprimand and that Lopez run a public service campaign equal to the $19,500 he spent on the original ad.
