Buzzy's Ranch purchase on board agenda

The Carson City Board of Supervisors will take possible action this week on purchasing the Jarrard Ranch. The Jarrard Trust has agreed to sell nearly 369 acres, the remainder of "Buzzy's Ranch," to the city for about $3.7 million.

The board may also:

• Authorize continuing to pursue legislation for the establishment of health districts in rural Nevada.

• Adopt an amendment allowing manufactured homes or mobile homes that are more than 15 years old to be placed in mobile home parks under certain circumstances.

• Introduce an amendment to declare as public nuisances places where members of criminal gangs congregate to commit or plan crimes.

• Hear a monthly review of the Carson City Operations scorecard.

• Present proclamations to the Chorus of the Comstock for Barbershop Harmony Week, to the Donate Life Awareness Walk of Northern Nevada Committee for Donate Life Month and for Archaeology Awareness and Historic Preservation Month.
