The Carson City Republican Party has set an "Old Fashioned Political Rally" for Mills Park on Sunday and officials say a number of candidates will be there to discuss the issues and seek support.

Party spokesman Carol Howell said those who have signed up to attend include gubernatorial candidates Gov. Jim Gibbons and Mike Montandon as well as U.S. Senate candidates Sharron Angle, Sue Lowden, Bill Parson and Danny Tarkanian.

Also scheduled to attend are state Senate candidates James Settelmeyer, Ty Cobb and Frank Wright and Assembly candidates Amy Clemens and Tom Grady.

Howell said the event begins at 4 p.m. and will probably last about three hours.

To draw a crowd to Mills Park, they are offering food and snacks at old-fashioned prices: 50-cent burgers and hot dogs, 15-cent popcorn and other snacks and drinks for a dime.
