March 26, 1924-April 8, 2010.
Born to George and Mary Carter into humble beginnings in Montpelier, Ind., in 1924, Jack grew to be a proud Navy veteran, successful businessman and dedicated father. He volunteered for Naval duty at the onset of WWII, serving six years on cruisers and destroyers. After the war he settled into the Sacramento area where he began a family. Jack took all sorts of jobs to provide for his family, including handy man, apartment manager and real estate sales.
In 1959 he married his second wife and began a long and fruitful career as administrator of the Camellia Convalescent Centers of Sacramento. In 1972 Jack moved to Nevada to accept a position in Las Vegas. In 1975 Jack began work as a health facilities surveyor for the state of Nevada, retiring in 1998 at the age of 74.
Jack was extremely proud to join the Catholic faith in the early 1980s, and serve with the Knights of Columbus throughout his later life. Jack will always be thought of as a kind, peaceful man who always had a good word and a smile for his friends and family. Jack passed away peacefully at the age of 86.
Jack is survived by his first family, Eunice, Jacqua, Paula and Forrest along with their children Natalie (Paula) Jennifer, Stacie and Jacquline (Jacqua) and Forrest Michael (Forrest) and their grandchildren. And that of his second family, Anita, Rick, Kate (daughter-in-law) Jack and Dean (grandchildren). We all love you Dad, thanks for a lifetime of great memories.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Richard.
No service will be held, Jack will be cremated and his ashes placed along with other veterans in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City, Nev.
