LAS VEGAS (AP) - A newspaper poll puts U.S. Sen. Harry Reid some 10 percentage points behind the Republican front-runner to challenge him on a full November ballot with six minor-party contenders.

The survey of Nevada voters commissioned and reported Friday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal has Republican Sue Lowden getting 47 percent of the vote, compared with 37 percent for the Senate Democratic majority leader.

The poll of 625 registered voters was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research of Washington, D.C.

The survey had a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
