The Carson boys swim team topped Fallon 164-124 at the Carson Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Coming in first, second or third for Carson was: Luke Gentner (second) and Zachary White (third) in the 200 free; Tim Grunert took first and Jacob Branco second in the 200 individual medley; Gentner won the 50 free with Ashton McIntosh second; Branco won the 100 fly with Jose (Albert) Reed second; White won the 100 free; Reed won the 500 free; Grunert and McIntosh took first and second respectively in the backstroke; and Gary Showalter won the 100 breaststroke with Andrew Peckham finishing third. Brian Lester won the 1 meter diving.
In the relays, the 200 medley team of Andrew Biddlecome, Angel Salas, Alexander Hofer and Peckham was third. The 200 free team of Branco, McIntosh, White and Jason Henderson took first. The team of Biddlecome, Trevor Stocke, Alex Sanchez and Kyle Smith took third in the same event.
In the 400 free it was another first and third finish for the Senators. The team of Branco, Grunert, McIntosh and Reed took first. The team of Showalter, Henderson, Peckham and White was third.
GIRLS LOSE TO FALLON
The Carson girls swimming team lost a close meet to Fallon, 144-138, on Saturday.
Placing for Carson: Sophie Holmes, Alex Schlager and Katie Woeller place first, second and third respectively in the 200 yard free; Abigail Pittman was second in the 200 individual medley; Schlager was second in the 50 free; Jamie Showalter and Nicole Updegrove were second and third in the 100 fly; Updegrove was third in the 100 free; Showalter was first in the 500 free; Jill Stroup was second in the 100 backstroke; and Holmes was first in the 100 breaststroke.
In the relays, the Carson team of Updegrove, McKenzie Price, Samantha McCarty and Lydia Fenton were second in the 200. Carson took first in the 400 with a team consisting of Chloe Hearn, Holmes, Pittman and Showalter. The Senators also took third with the team of Stroup, Woeller, Fenton and Danielle Stanka.
Both the boys and girls teams return to the pool on Saturday for a High Desert meet starting at 11 a.m.

DOUGLAS WINS
CONSOLATION BRACKET
The Douglas High softball team won the consolation bracket of the Reed Easter Invitational on Saturday in Sparks, going 5-1 overall in the tournament.
After wins over Elko and Alhambra on Friday, Douglas lost in the quarterfinals to James Logan, Calif., 8-7. The Tigers led 7-1 through five innings.
Katrina Morgan had a home run to go with three RBIs.
Emily Weaver had three hits, including a double and Morgan Blomstrom, Rebecca Trute and Nikki Chavez each had two hits.
In the first consolation game, Douglas beat Elko 13-4 in five innings. Morgan had three hits, including a pair of triples and six RBIs. Blomstrom hit a grand-slam home run, Weaver had four hits, Amanda Caras had three hits and Chavez had two hits. Chelsea Fent picked up the win in the circle.
Douglas beat Fallon 5-3 in the consolation semis as Morgan, Trute and Brenna White each had two hits. Trute drove in a pair of runs as well. Kalee Duryee was credited with the win.
The Lady Tigers raced past Galena, 9-0 in five innings, in the consolation championship.
The first six batters for Douglas scored in the first inning.
Morgan had two hits, including a three-run home run - her third of the tournament.
Trute had three hits including a home run and a triple. Naomi Roberts had three hits and Blomstrom added two hits. Duryee held Galena to just three hits in the game, striking out two and walking none.
CARSON LOSES TWO
It was a tough day for the Carson at the tournament. The Senators lost 4-2 to West Valley (Calif.) and 2-1 to Galena.
The Senators led West Valley 2-1 after Lindsey Ashbaugh's RBI single and a solo home run by Moriah Lane. However the Senators would allow three runs in the sixth inning. Daria Leid took the loss giving up four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 5.2 innings. Christina Gallegos pitched the other 1.1 innings only allowing a walk.
Ashbaugh and Lisa Yamamoto both were 2-for-3. Lane and Megan Hein had the Senators other hits.
In the second game, Carson took an early 1-0 lead on Ashbaugh's sacrifice fly that scored Lane, who had singled. Galena would tie the game in the fourth off Gallegos, who allowed one run on one hit with three strikeouts and a walk in four innings. Ashbaugh took over in the circle and was hit with the loss after Galena scored in the fifth inning. Ashbaugh allowed one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Beside Lane, Ashbaugh, Emily Collins, Lauren Knorzer and Jocelyn Young all had hits.
Next up for Carson is a key series against Wooster. The Senators, 6-6 in the Sierra League, are fighting for a playoff spot but trail Fallon, Manogue and Galena. All three teams have a 7-5 league record.
The Senators host Wooster at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
VARSITY BASEBALL
AIAZZI PITCHES
YERINGTON PAST LOWRY
Cole Aiazzi pitched a complete-game to help lead the Yerington baseball team over Lowry 5-2 Saturday in Yerington.
Aiazzi struck out one, walked one and scattered six hits while going 1-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lions.
Cody Villalobos drove in a pair of runs while Sergio Cruz and Tyler Peeples had an RBI apiece for Yerington.
Lowry took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Anthony Chojnacki singled home a run, but the Lions came right back with three runs in the bottom half.
Jarrod Adams led the frame off with a double, and Russell Lacey later singled. Adams scored on a single from Peeples and Lacey and Peeples scored on a single from Villalobos.
Lowry cut the score to 3-2 in the top of the fourth with a triple from Anders Pace and an RBI single from Bryan Noble.
The Lions came back with a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth as Cruz doubled Villalobos home and later scored on an error.
Cruz finished the day 2-for-2 at the plate, Peeples was 2-for-3 and Aiazzi, Burke Bristol, Kenny Skalla, Jarrod Adams, Lacey and Villalobos each finished with one hit.
