Dayton pitchers dominate competition

MacKenzie Cole tossed back-to-back no hitters as the Dayton High varsity softball team defeated Sparks 11-0 and 10-0 on Saturday.

In the first game, Cole struck out 12.

She also helped herself going 3-for-3 with a homer at the plate. Lindsie Cross was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Cheyanna Burrows was 2-for-2 with a double. Crystal MacGirvin was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

In the second game she struck out nine. She also went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Natash Wells was 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI. Burrows was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Savannah Parson and Mariah Collins each added a hit and RBI. Collins stole two bases.

Early last week, the Dust Devils shutout Silver Stage 11-0 in a non-conference matchup.

Cross got the win striking out five.

Wells was 2-for-2 with a double while Burrows was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cole had an RBI, and stolen base.

Wells, Burrows and Cole each scored runs for Dayton.
