Farm Days at Fuji Park this week
Students from area school districts will get a hands-on lesson in agriculture Thursday and Friday as part of the annual Farm Days presentation at Fuji Park.
Daily presentations from 8:45 a.m.-2 p.m. represent various aspects of ranching and farming in the Great Basin as well as environmental issues that affect agriculture.
The annual event is sponsored by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.

Free legal education clinics offered
Nevada Legal Services Incorporated will present two free legal education clinics Thursday at the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Ormsby Room, 911 E. Musser St.
A Forms Completion Clinic will be 1-3:30 p.m. is for people who are filing without legal representation. General instructions will be provided regarding the completion of self-help forms. A notary public will be available.
A Foreclosure Clinic will be from 4-6 p.m. Attorneys Jennifer Jeans and Chris Colby will present the educational clinic.
Preregistration for both clinics is requested to ensure handout materials are available to all who attend. Call 775-334-3045.
Candidates to speak during GOP meeting
Supervisor Ward 1 and 3 candidates are guest speakers for the Carson City Republican Central Committee's regular meeting Thursday at the Sierra Room at The Plaza Hotel, 801 S. Carson St.
Doors open 6:30 p.m. Come early, enjoy coffee and cookies and meet the candidates personally. Meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Regular meeting time is extended to 8:30 p.m. to accommodate all speakers.

Rummage sale to benefit local charities
The Circle of Friendship will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 809 N. Plaza St.
The event will feature live music, raffle prizes, family fun and food. All proceeds will benefit local charities.
Those who attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food drive.

'Happy Senior Tours' to travel to Sparks
The Carson City Senior Center's "Happy Senior Tours" group will travel to John Asquaga's Nugget in Sparks on May 11.
The bus will load at 7:45 a.m., in the east parking lot of the senior center. It will depart at 8:15 a.m. and return to the center at 4 p.m.
