Dayton ran its shutout streak to five games Wednesday with a 5-0 win over Fernley. MacKenzie Cole tossed the shutout allowing four hits and two walks while striking out nine.
The Dust Devils scored three first inning runs.
They added one in the third and one in the fourth.
Cheyenna Burrows was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Crystal MacGirvin was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Mariah Collins added a double. Natasha Wells was 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and two runs.
The Dust Devils improved to 7-3 in 3A play.
They play a doubleheader at Fernley on Saturday.
