Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Christopher Garland, 34, a janitor from Carson City, was arrested at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child abuse. He allegedly spanked his 8-year-old son with a hairbrush between five and 13 times, and lifted the boy off the ground by his neck. Bail was set at $2,500. Child Protective Services removed the alleged victim and two siblings from the home.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Report of tools missing from a home on El Rancho Drive at 7:08 a.m.

• Report of 29 car seats missing from the Ron Wood Family Resource Center at 7:08 a.m.

• Accident in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive at 9:29 a.m.

• Accident at Lompa Lane and Highway 50 East at 12:50 p.m.

• Fight among juveniles at Seely Loop and Saliman Road at 2:04 p.m.

• Burglary report in the 3400 block of Airport Road at 3:11 p.m.

• A deer attacked by dogs on Combs Canyon Road at Vista Ariana Drive was put down by a deputy at 6:47 p.m.

• Coroner call in the 200 block of Koontz Lane at 8:42 p.m.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Coroner call on South Street in Mason Valley at 9:53 a.m.

• Coroner call on West Seventh Street in Silver Springs at 9:34 a.m.

• A Fernley High student was detained for possession of marijuana at 12:04 p.m.

• Coroner call on Saroni Road in Smith Valley at 1:21 p.m.

• Misdemeanor arrest on North Point Circle in Mark Twain at 2:16 p.m.

• A woman reported her mother and dog were attacked by other dogs as they were out walking on Riverboat Road in Mark Twain at 4:36 p.m.
