Carson City road report for the week of April 26

The following information applies to the period of April 26-May 2:

The intersection of Koontz Lane and South Edmonds Drive will be closed to allow for the completion of gas utility work. Alternate routes will be required, and detour routes will be indicated.

The Roop Street widening project will continue this week with the following impacts expected:

• Long Street will be closed at the Roop Street intersection from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 28-30. Eastbound Long Street traffic will be detoured at Stewart Street to Lee Street and Beverly Drive, while westbound Long Street traffic will be detoured at Marian Avenue to Beverly Drive.

• Roop Street is closed from William Street to Stewart Street through the completion of the project.

• The eastbound left turn lane on William Street to northbound Roop Street is closed through completion of the project.

• The intersections of Park Street, Adams Street, Lee Street and John Street with Roop Street will be closed to through traffic until project completion. Traffic may cross Roop Street at Corbett Street and Long Street.

Work will continue on East Fifth Street between the Fairview Drive roundabout and Carson River Road/Hells Bells Road for sidewalk improvements. Please use caution.

Goni Road will be reduced to a single lane between Conestoga Drive and South Sutro with flaggers on weekdays. Additionally, work will continue in the vicinity of the intersection of Goni Road and Arrowhead Drive. Minor delays are expected.

Minor delays are expected on Washington Street between Carson and Walsh streets due to sidewalk improvements.

Work will continue on East Fifth Street near Well Way. North of the median, East Fifth Street will be open to two-way traffic, while a portion south of the median will be closed for water main construction.
