Genoa Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival
This event, presented by the Carson Valley Arts Council and the Town of Genoa, will feature nationally known cowboy poets and musicians including Waddie Mitchell, Don Edwards, Paul Zarzyski, Lacy J. Dalton, David John and the Comstock Cowboys. Cowboy dinners, a Pleasure Trail Ride and a tour of a working ranch will also be included in this weekend-long event. 17th Annual Gourmet & Golf Tournament
This tournament not only helps the community in so many ways by providing an array of services to many individuals trying hard to beat addictions, but the Community Counseling Center of Carson City is the last stand of services left locally that can assist in that fight. So thanks to Jerry at The Cracker Box, Charlie at Adele's Restaurant and Jackolyn at Js' Old Town Bistro in Dayton for again sponsoring the annual event to raise money for the center. I guarantee this tournament is always a great time with gourmet treats for all.

Safe Grad Class of 2010 Cut-A-Thon
Safe Grad is an event sponsored by the Carson High PTSA on the night of graduation in June. Safe Grad has been a tradition in Carson City for 19 years and to help them reach the goal of making sure every graduating student can celebrate this landmark moment in their lives. Brenda Collins is opening the doors to her own hair salon, Rapunzel's, to everyone for a cut-a-thon on Sunday. All proceeds from this event go directly to the cause.

Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O., Chapter N)
The 3rd annual Amador County Wine Tour and Tasting, sponsored by P.E.O., Chapter N, raises money for women's scholarships. Visit four wineries and during the trip there will be a raffle of several gift baskets and prizes.

WHERE: Meet in the parking lot of the old Walmart (soon to be Sportsman's Warehouse) in South Carson City and board the bus by about 6:45 a.m., leaving at 7 a.m. returning approximately 6:45 p.m.
COST: $50 or, after May 1 $55, includes continental breakfast, box lunch, light snacks, wine-tasting fees, and raffle ticket
