The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is continuing a joint investigation with the Nevada Division of Investigation, Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol Investigative Unit and the Modesto Police Department, in the disappearance of Silver Springs resident Peggy Herlacher.
Herlacher, 73, was reported missing July 24. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Lyon County Sheriff's Lt. Brian Veil said detectives are continuing to obtain information and investigate leads to Herlacher's disappearance.
Herlacher's grandson James Master-son, 22, was arrested July 25 by the Calif-ornia Highway Patrol for possession of Herlacher's car, credit cards and possession of suspected heroin. Masterson also has a hold out of Lyon County for taking Herlacher's vehicle and credit cards. He is suspected in Herlacher's disappearance, said Veil.
A preliminary hearing on the Sacramento charges is set for Tuesday.
Search efforts by Lyon County Sheriff's Office detectives, Search and Rescue and NDI have continued and now are expanding into other areas outside of Lyon County.
Lyon County detectives are asking anyone with information or who may have spotted Masterson, Herlacher or her 2000 White Chevy Cavalier between July 22 and 25 to contact Lyon County detectives at 775-577-5096.
According to Veil, it is suspected that Masterson's route of travel to California was Highway 95 Alternate between Silver Springs and Fernley and Interstate 80 from Fernley to the Sacramento area.
