From distance education to new principals, school officials will announce changes Tuesday in the district for the upcoming school year.
During the Carson City School Board meeting, former Seeliger Elementary School principal Lee Conley will be introduced as the new principal for Eagle Valley Middle School.
"Mr. Conley is a proven principal in our school district," said Superintendent Richard Stokes. "He has a lot of students from Seeliger who are going to be attending Eagle Valley. We think that's going to be a nice fit."
Conley replaces Chris Butson, who left the position to take over as the school district's director of English-as-a-second-language programs.
Replacing Conley at Seeliger Elementary School will be Paula Zona, who has been serving as principal of C.C. Meneley Elementary School in Gardnerville. She is the wife of Jason Zona, principal of Pioneer High School.
"She interviewed very well," Stokes said. "We're happy a person of her caliber is willing to work for us in the Carson City School District."
Other introductions will include Jessica Rivera as the school district's resource officer, Jill Council as the distance education coordinator and Scott Tarrant as the food-service management consultant.
An overview of the nutrition and distance education programs also are scheduled.
The meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.
