Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• Roseann Owens, 48, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Carson City Sheriff's Office on suspicion of grand larceny. According to the arrest report, Owens allegedly said she felt guilty about stealing a purse the previous day from a Carson City casino. She arrived at the Sheriff's Office at about 4:45 p.m., looking distraught as she stood outside the doors, said Detective Bob Motamenpour. When Motamenpour asked her what the problem was, Owens allegedly said she'd done something wrong. Upon further questioning, Owens confessed, the report states. Her bail was set at $10,000.
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
• A green Polaris all-terrain vehicle was reported stolen at 6:30 a.m. from a driveway on Conte Drive.
• Report of a former tenant stealing the washer and dryer and vandalizing the walls of an apartment on Imperial Way at 2:45 p.m.
• Coroner call at 4:46 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Ormsby Boulevard.
Lyon County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
• Misdemeanor arrest on Cook Way at 12:35 a.m. in Fernley.
• Misdemeanor arrest on Highway 427 in Fernley at 2:24 a.m.
• Felony arrest on Highway 95 Alternate in Mason Valley at 8:14 a.m.
• Coroner call at South Lyon County Medical Center in Yerington at 2:10 p.m.
• Vehicle theft report on Gay Street in Silver City at 11:45 a.m.
• A man reported at
6 p.m. his garage door had been stolen from Sandia Drive in Fernley.
Storey County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
• Los Angeles Animal Rescue called to report they had received several anonymous calls about a neglected one-humped camel in the area.
• Report of a large bear with a red tag in its ear surprising an Applegate Road homeowner on his porch Tuesday morning.
