Time to yank John Ensign out of Senate seat
In the aftermath of Ensign's how many'th nay vote on emergency unemployment compensation, and with the investigation into his structuring payoffs, why can't the Senate Ethics Committee just vote for his expulsion? And why do Nevadans continue to let this hopelessly confused love puppy vote on issues which adversely affect our lives?
He is unable to decide whether or not to keep his mistress, confused, no doubt, about his professed Pentecostal faith, confused about whether to stay in the C Street haven or not, confused about how to launder more money. Decisions/votes by him, or often the lack thereof, on legislation seem to hinge on which way right-wing breezes blow, not on any factual basis.
Now we hear that somehow $961,247 is in holding for possible re-election.
We may have been slow on the uptake, but let me try to figure this out. Cynthia Hampton gets $25,000 severance pay; she and the hubby get $96,000 from our dear Sen. Ensign - according to him, a gift.
Considering the job projection in Nevada, and ebbing emergency unemployment compensation, I need to find a recipe for homemade soap. I'd be willing to donate some to wash his mouth out.

BLM turns deaf ear to public regarding roundups
As a voice for our wild horses, the American mustangs, what happened to our wild horses on public land? It is obvious that the people involved with the BLM-Calico wild horse roundup are turning a deaf ear to the public interest. I'm sure when the time comes to vote, they will hear us.

TV's sway over politics blurs reality, lies
Since the 1950s, television has changed the political process. Politicians now have to be actors. They have to be more versed in what they're wearing than just getting the job done. It brought about the evolution of the public relations firms - selling a lifestyle instead of giving you information about the product.
And that's what happened in politics. TV is a medium which lends itself to manipulation, exploitation and gimmicks. Political campaigns have been taken over by public relations experts - not only how to use TV, but what to say, what to stand for, what kind of person to be.
I'm not so sure that TV doesn't create a great sense of entertainment while at the same time creating the most disastrous invention that ever happened. It has blurred the lines between truth, reality and mythology. It mixed it all up, and we've gotten confused, and we can't figure out what's real anymore.
Our core problem is to change - at the very core level - campaign financing. How can one individual's vote/contribution stand up against a corporation's vote/contribution?
Is this economy, which government has created, here to serve the wealthy people who own it or did we bring it into being and do we support and maintain it so that it can benefit the average working person and thus democracy.
And lastly, why is democracy only involved in politics and not economics?

Put an end to Democrats' profligacy on Nov. 2
Have you received your auto registration renewal notice? Did you notice the huge hike? The bill for my 1990 car jumped up by $103 or a whopping 86.5 percent.
You can thank the Democrats who overrode Gov. Gibbons' veto of the Democrats' bloated budget and socked it to us taxpayers. They increased spending and increased taxes. They took the money from the counties and this is their way of giving it back.
You can't suck that much money out of the economy without causing more damage to our fragile economy - more unemployment followed by more foreclosures.
Democrats have no sense of fiscal responsibility or restraint.
The only voice we have is to not vote for a single Democrat, and vote all Democrats out of office on Nov. 2.
