The Jazz! Carson City 2010 music festival keeps comin' tonight with the piano, sax, trumpet trio of David Ake-Paul Roth-Louis Laurain playing 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center, and keeps hopping through the weekend.
The festival, which began Aug. 8, features 40 concerts with more than 25 bands, 100 musicians and a dozen venues.
This coming Saturday alone features an all-day feast of free concerts from 9 a.m.-midnight.
But first, check out the Brewery concert tonight, and jump around town Friday for world-fusion band Slow Djin Fez 6-7 p.m. at Comma Courtyard; Delta Wires blues from 7:30-11 p.m. at Fridays@3rd; and Fiscus from 8-11 p.m. at Plan:b Microlounge.
Saturday's lineup begins at the 3rd and Curry Street Farmers Market with the western ragtime of Large Bills Accepted and ends at Comma Courtyard with an open jam session from 10 p.m.-midnight.
In between, bands converging on Carson City at various locations through the day and night include Dave Fritz & Lake Effect, George Hanepen & Dallas Smith; Johnny Hamlin Trio; Tristan Selzler's Blues Assault; Colin Ross & Mig O'Hara; JB Gravity featuring vocalist Jennifer Barber; Champagne Singers; Lucky Diamond & the Gents o' Jive; New World Jazz Project; and Mile High Jazz Band "Tribute to Basie."
Sunday concerts in the Park in the Legislative Plaza start at 4 p.m. with Warren Walker Group followed by the Jazz Guys at 5 p.m. and the Reno Jazz Orchestra with Cami Thompson from 6-8 p.m.
But wait! There's more! Jazz! keeps on keepin' on with concerts Aug. 25, 27 and 28.
