Those interested in helping children can find out about becoming a guardian for a child who has been removed from the home by child welfare due to abuse or neglect.
CASA of Carson City will be holding an information hour from 5-6 p.m. Thursday at the Carson City Juvenile Court, corner of Saliman and 5th streets, 1545 E. 5th St.
Being a child advocate takes time, caring, patience, research, writing and good communication skills. CASA conducts an interview and a background check.
"Being a child advocate is rewarding and makes a difference for the most vulnerable children," said Chris Bayer, director of CASA.
