Nevadans trying to sign up to reinstate their extended unemployment benefits can now do so through the Internet, at www.express

claim.org.

Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation Director Larry Mosley said employment security workers have been working overtime including Saturdays for three weeks to reinstate extended unemployment benefits for those cut off when the federal extensions expired in June.

Congress funded the extensions again July 23.

Mosley said workers have reinstated benefits to more than 51,000 of the 56,000 people who were cut off.

The Internet filing is available for the emergency benefit extensions approved by the federal government as well as initial claim filings, but a spokesman said those receiving state supported extended benefits must call in and talk to a claims representative.

The number to call in the Carson City area is 684-0350. In rural Nevada, call 888-890-8211.
