Paslov venerates three known traitors

On Aug. 14, (Eugene) Paslov asserted that Teddy "Chappaquidick" Kennedy was a moderate, as is the ACLU and Greenpeace. It is impossible to address all Paslov's distortions and lies in this format. Here are three:

As to the ACLU: leftist anti-American treasonous scum - clearly. Moderate? Hardly.

Greenpeace? They support to some of the most violent murderous anti-American terrorist organizations in the world: A.L.F., E.L.F., the Ruckus Society and the Black Bloc Anarchists, to name a few. Greenpeace shrouds its association with such extremists to maintain its bogus veneer of respectability.

Kennedy? He was raised by Joe Kennedy Sr., who idolized Hitler. He was too stupid to get into Harvard on merit so he was admitted as a legacy. He was expelled twice, once for cheating and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him. He joined the Army after being expelled in 1951. Korea? He never saw it; he spent two years in Paris, thanks to his daddy. He went in a private, came out a private.

In 1983, Teddy clandestinely arranged, with the KGB, help in undermining President Reagan. An American senator collaborated with our archenemy to undermine a sitting U.S. president. That's treason, Paslov.

Then, of course, there is Mary Jo Kopechne. Did you know she didn't drown? She suffocated when the oxygen ran out in an air pocket while your hero went home to bed. You good with that, Paslov?

Say 'yes' to Nugget project possibilities

All the negativity about the "Nugget Redevelopment Project" or the "City Center Project" or whatever you want to call it, is discouraging to me as it must be to many of us.

Negativity is pretty easy - Just say "No" and then you don't have to figure out how to make it work. "No" comes naturally to so many of us. I am sure that those of you who have eagerly awaited those first words from your still-nonverbal child remember that "No" came before "Yes." It must be a natural phenomenon, almost a gut reaction with some. However, "Yes" opens so many doors and makes dreams come true.

Guy Farmer mentions the project in Stockton, Calif., as a strike against Mark Lewis. Well, I have family in Stockton, and go there often. Now, instead of a blighted area by the waterfront, they have a vibrant entertainment center with theaters, sports facilities, restaurants, parks and plazas. As well as being a wonderful opportunity for recreation and enjoyment for the residents and visitors, it is bringing in revenue for the city.

Guy Farmer also calls the project the Nugget Bailout Project. He is wrong - it is the Carson City Bailout Project. I say, let's get it on. We cannot afford to just sit around and twiddle our thumbs. We need to do something positive to create jobs and turn our economy around.

Why are there no seat belts on school buses?

Why don't school buses have seat belts? It is the law now, is it not? Has anyone seen the brutal bus accidents on YouTube? They are horrific. I did a little research on school bus accidents and I came up with this: As many as 11 children a year die as a result of a school bus accident.

Eleven doesn't sound like a huge number, but when we are talking about children, that is significant. That number doesn't even account for the 12,000 injuries a year from bus accidents. Is somebody putting a pricetag over the lives of our children? That's disgusting.

I have been a resident here for

20 plus years, and I don't recall many bus accidents. However, I plan to have children, and I really dislike the thought of the possibility of my child being a fatality in a school bus accident that could have been prevented. My neighbor's son complained to his mother the other day for having to wear a seatbelt when he is not required to wear one every day on his school bus. Problem?
