During the two weeks that the Carson City Library was closed for the installation of the technology upgrade and some remodeling that was done at the same time, there were many volunteers who came in and worked with the staff in getting the job done. Most of these volunteers are members of the Friends of the Library, but there were also many who were patrons and supporters of the library and wanted to help in any way they could.
I would like to publicly thank the staff who worked very hard to get this all done in the two week period and to publicly thank all of those volunteers who gave generously of their time to get it all done. Some of these volunteers have spent hours and days working to make sure that all items returned since the closure have also been upgraded for the new technology.
The following people were most helpful. First of all, there is a huge thank you due the Parks and Recreation Facilities Division. These men were instrumental in the remodel and moving of desks and equipment and restoring carpeting. They were Supervisor Bob Keith and crew Larry, Dick, Andy, Ron, Paul and Gary. Thank you all. The volunteers were Lila Cummins, Mary Leeds, Jean Grinolds, Nancy Grundy, Marcia Hill, Neetha Nair, Sheila and Kenneth Van Meveren, Pat Glick, Zoleinna and Ken Schar, Susan Matthes, Susie King, Maria Johnson, Donna Curtis, Linda Poole, Frieda Ford, Zina Donoho-King, Hazel Ryland, Debbie Garrett, Norma Wohlt, Cindy and Bob Byington, Julie Young, Jetty Maddox, Bill Crowell, Phyllis Patton, Sandy Tebeau, Renate Michaut, Bob Komac, Joanne Kennedy, Bobbie Church, Delores Pringle, Lynn and Ralph Capurro, Betty Cox, Charlene Webster, Elaine Jones, Jan and Bill Bachman, Joe Bookwalter, Brad Danner, Betty Gardner, Amy Lauder, Carol Etcheverry, Sandy Osheroff, Laura Beckerdite, Martin Jones, Jim Rush, Lou Werlinger and Dale Hines. Members of the teen group who came in and helped were Megan Wilhelm, Andrew Palmer, Amanda Slabaugh, Cody Shelton, Kendra Valladon, Jacquelyn Conard and Shelley Plemel.
Once again, from the entire Board of Trustees, a huge thanks to all of you. Now we can all enjoy the fresh looking, updated library and all that it offers.
