Farmers market this week

While other farmers markets have wrapped up for the season, the Downtown 3rd & Curry St. market is in full production.

Everything is showing up at the Downtown 3rd and Curry street Farmers Market this week; Hearts of Gold melons, heirloom tomatoes, O'Henry peaches, pickling cucumbers and farm-fresh eggs you don't have to worry about.

Join Neal Stevens, from the Nursery Farm in Fallon, for a short informative talk about ornamental bunch grass. He'll tell you why it's easy to grow and maintain and where's the best place to plant it.

We'll also have a computer at the market so it will be easy for you to vote in America's Favorite Farmers Market contest with a chance to with prizes for those who participate. If you can't make it to the market vote online at the 3rd & Curry St. website or you can friend us on Facebook, there is also a link there.

The canning classes will be at 6 p.m. Monday and this is the last week to sign up.
