Three people, including a child and a pregnant woman, were taken by helicopter Saturday to Renown Regional Medical Center with serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident in north Carson City, Sheriff's officials said.
Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Cullen said it appeared that the driver of a van was making an illegal left-hand turn in front of a Chevy pickup about 2:10 p.m. near 777 Silver Oak Drive when the accident occurred.
The driver of the pickup truck as well as a child and pregnant woman in the minivan were injured in the accident, Cullen said.
"Two people are also in custody right now and going to jail for yelling at the cops and basically inciting a riot with the crowd," he said.
The incident interfered with the officers who were trying to help with the accident, he said. Other people were trying to help the victims.
"We had bad people and good people out here today," Cullen said.
The accident still is under investigation. The condition of the three victims was not available.
