The former manager of a Lompa Lane apartment complex who was jailed in connection with a shooting there last month, was arrested again Friday afternoon after allegedly threatening tenants and calling them snitches.
Jose Diaz, 32, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 5:08 p.m. on suspicion of felony grand larceny, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, intimidating a witness and violation of bail conditions.
According to the arrest reports, police were called at the complex at the corner of Menlo Manor and Lompa Lane after the complex owner requested a police escort while checking on the property.
According to Deputy Sam Hatley, Diaz has been relieved as the complex manager and the owners are in the process of evicting him since his arrest Aug. 14 following a shooting there in which more than 30 rounds were exchanged between rival gang members. No one was injured.
While at the complex Friday a witness confided to a deputy that Diaz had allegedly been harassing the tenants since he was bailed out of jail on Aug. 16.
One witness reported seeing Diaz chase a tenant into an apartment and when the man's son emerged, he snatched the son's cell phone fearing he was recording the incident, the report states.
Diaz also allegedly yelled at other tenants witnessing the display and threatened to damage their vehicles, calling them, "rats, snitches and b**ches," according to the arrest report.
Because Diaz was out on bail, officers had grounds to arrest him on violating his bail conditions. The report states, Diaz, who is a convicted felon, was also subject to search and seizure and deputies allegedly recovered a .25 cal. semi-automatic handgun from his vehicle and the broken cell phone from his apartment.
He is being held on $28,000 bail.
