Health Inspections for Sept. 1

The following health inspections are for the period of Aug. 11-17:

• The Schmit House Bar/Lounge, 4750 Hwy. 50 East, scored 88 points. Home canned or prepared foods are used or stored, jar of pickled jalepenos and pickled eggs in beet juice. Other food items found in the facility were said to be personal. Steaks in marinade, Stagg chili, large volume, hamburger buns, barbecue sauce. Drains from three-compartment sink, food service equipment or appliances equipped with drains, such as covered urns or refrigerated dispensing machines are directly connected to the sewerage system. Drain from ice machine plumbed to unapproved floor sink outside. Walk-in cooler is in the process of being brought back to service. The condensate line has not been plumbed to an approved floor sink.

• Economy Wash 'n Dry Convenience Store, 207 Hot Springs Road, scored 100 points.

• Carson Donut Bakery, 3170 S. Carson St. #10, scored 99 points. Walls behind the 3-C sink are dirty and covered with bio-film buildup.

• Quik Stop Markets, Inc. Convenience Store, 3006 N. Roop St., scored 100 points.

• Pho Country Restaurant, 2495 N. Carson St., scored 87 points. Found used paper towels thrown against clean drink glasses in the cashier's area. The trash container was covered with food trays. Found the sanitizer buckets in the cashier's area and in the kitchen to be covered and/or not used during the lunch period. Observed an employee rinsing a wiping cloth in the hand sink, then prepare to use it to wipe food prep surfaces in the kitchen. Found cigarettes and a lighter stored on the same shelf with clean dishes. Also found an ice cream scoop stored against an employee mirror at the kitchen hand sink. Found a plate of employee food in the walk-in.

• Joanie's Creekside Cafe & Catering Restaurant, 1795 E. College Parkway, scored 100 points.

• Carson City Parks, Fuji Park Food Facility Mobile Trailer, 701 Clear Creek Road, scored 100 points.

• Costco Wholesale Corporation Deli Department, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, scored 100 points.

• Costco Wholesale Corporation Restaurant, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, scored 100 points.

• Costco Wholesale Corporation Produce Department, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, scored 100 points.

• Costco Wholesale Corporation Meat Department, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, scored 100 points.

• Costco Wholesale Corporation Bakery, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, scored 100 points.

• Artisan Cafe Restaurant, 449 W. King St., scored 99 points. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces did not contain enough sanitizer residual. Change the sanitizer solution regularly especially when the water gets cloudy.

• Juan's Mexican Grill #2 Restaurant, 3680 Goni Road, scored 100 points.

• Comstock Casino Bar/Lounge, 3680 Goni Road, scored 97 points. There were no cold holding thermometers in both the under-counter dairy holding refrigerators. Food contact surfaces of the speed gun holster contained debris and was not clean.
