Share Your Holiday Food Drive
This annual food drive sustains the food pantry at the shelter for the long winter months and is so important to each of the victims of domestic violence and their children. You may never know exactly how many individuals you have helped with your bags of food or cash donations, but your kindness means everything to the woman who found the courage to flee with her children from the nightmare of violence. Not only are you helping her change her life, you are helping her children have a safer future. Volunteers still needed through out the day.
WHO: Advocates to End Domestic Violence Food Drive
WHAT: Donations of can goods, dry goods, detergents, paper products, and/or cash
WHEN: 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 10
WHERE: Governor's Mansion will again have the drive up and drop off so you can stay warm in your car.

Friends to All Senior Santa Visits
Gwen Pradere, Kathy McClintock and Sarah Currie came up with a great idea for local seniors residing in their own homes. They won't be forgotten this year. Come join Santa Claus and his helpers in presenting a special "gift," a token of appreciation from the community, and spread the holiday cheer. They are collecting teas, slipper socks with grips on the bottoms, large crossword puzzle books, packaged food items, gift certificates and any other items you think a senior being visited by Santa might enjoy this holiday season. We always think of children at this time of year but let us also remember another population as well, help this wonderful program and be Friends to All. Call by Dec. 6 to volunteer as a Santa's helper or in other ways.
