TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Jon Diebler scored 12 points and Jared Sullinger notched his third double-double of the season Tuesday night to lead No. 2 Ohio State to a 58-44 victory over Florida State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Sullinger, a 6-foot-9 freshman, Ohio, finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds while David Lightly added 10 points for the Buckeyes (6-0).

Ohio State took a 7-0 lead and never trailed, building its biggest lead at 40-23 on William Buford's jumper with 15:45 left in the game.

Florida State (5-2) closed within 49-42 on Deividas Dulky's 3-pointer with 4:30 left.

Freshman Ian Miller led Florida State with 11 points.

No. 7 Connecticut 62, New Hampshire 55

STORRS, Conn. (AP) - Kemba Walker scored 30 points and Connecticut returned from its triumphant trip to Hawaii with a harder-than-expected victory.

Shabazz Napier added 11 points for Connecticut (6-0) which was not ranked before beating Michigan State and Kentucky last week in the Maui Invitational.

The Huskies trailed the Wildcats 24-23 at halftime, and didn't take the lead for good until 6 minutes into the second half. UConn went on a late 9-2 run to expand a 49-48 lead to 58-50.

Myrick Ferg had 16 of his 19 points in the second half to lead New Hampshire (4-2).

Walker, who leads the nation in scoring and came in averaging 30 points per game, needs two more points to reach 1,000 for his career.

The Huskies took their first lead on a layup by Walker 12 seconds into the second half, but didn't lead for good until Napier's three-point play with 14:08 to go to make it 35-34, part of a 12-2 UConn run.

No. 8 Syracuse 78, Cornell 58

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Rick Jackson had 17 points and 13 rebounds, his sixth double-double of the season, and Kris Joseph had 16 points for Syracuse.

Syracuse (7-0), fresh from winning the Legends Classic with wins over Michigan and Georgia Tech, has won 33 straight in the series with Cornell (2-5), which has lost four straight overall.

Dion Waiters had 11 points, Brandon Triche nine, and freshman center Fab Melo a season-high eight for Syracuse.

Errick Peck led Cornell with 14 points and Drew Ferry had nine. Point guard Chris Wroblewski, the team's leading scorer at 15.3 points a game, finished with eight points, missing all six attempts from beyond the arc, but had seven assists.

Joseph had seven points, Jackson scored twice inside, and a 3 by Waiters from the right side had Syracuse up 15-3 after just over 4 minutes of play.

No. 16 Georgetown 111, No. 9 Missouri 102, OT

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Jason Clark hit three 3-pointers in overtime, lifting Georgetown over Missouri, which erased an 18-point halftime deficit but faltered at the free throw line in the final seconds of regulation.

After Michael Dixon hit only one of two foul shots with 14.1 seconds left to give Missouri a 94-91 lead, Chris Wright's 3-pointer tied the matchup of unbeatens at 94-all.

Austin Freeman had 31 points for the Hoyas (7-0), who have won their first seven games for the second consecutive season. Missouri (5-1) trailed throughout the game until Marcus Denmon canned a 3-pointer for a 77-75 lead that had the capacity crowd in Kansas City's Sprint Center roaring.

Denmon had 27 points for Missouri, which missed three of four free throws in the final 19 seconds of regulation. The Hoyas were 18 of 18 from the line.

Dixon, who missed the only shot he took in the first half, sparked the second-half surge and finished with 17 points.

Ricardo Ratliffe had 22 points for the Tigers.

No. 10 Kentucky 91, Boston U. 57

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Brandon Knight scored 23 points as Kentucky bounced back from its first loss of the season.

Terrence Jones added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (5-1), who shot 59 percent from the field and overwhelmed the Terriers (4-4) over the final 20 minutes.

Kentucky led by just seven points at halftime before opening the second half on an 18-3 run.

John Holland led the Terriers with 20 points but Boston U. shot just 29 percent and had no answer after the Wildcats shook off a sluggish first half with perhaps their best basketball of the season.

Kentucky coach John Calipari was on the sideline two days after the passing of his mother, Donna, who died on Sunday following a lengthy battle with cancer.

The players honored her by sporting black socks, while Kentucky's assistants donned black suits and some fans - particularly in the student section - wore black T-shirts.

No. 13 Tennessee 86, Middle Tennessee 56

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tobias Harris scored 21 points and Scotty Hopson had 19 for Tennessee.

Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl was worried the Volunteers could be in for a trap game against the Blue Raiders after winning the NIT Season Tip-Off championship last week and with finals and a Dec. 11 trip to No. 3 Pittsburgh up next on the schedule.

The Vols (6-0) opened with an 8-0 run and trailed only once as Middle Tennessee (3-4) responded with a 10-0 run. Pearl put in a defensive lineup to pressure the Blue Raiders' shooters, and the only basket for 3 minutes was a 3-pointer by Hopson. Middle Tennessee wouldn't score for 8 minutes.

When the Vols' shooters returned to the court they went on a 21-0 run with five of six straight baskets coming from behind the arc. The last of the five, a shot by Trae Golden with 7:21 left in the first half, made it 29-10.

The Vols led 46-23 after Skylar McBee banked a shot from a few feet in front of the halfcourt line at the buzzer.

No. 20 Illinois 79, North Carolina 67

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Mike Davis scored 20 points and Illinois had five players finish in double figures in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Demetri McCamey had 17 points for the Illini (7-1) while Mike Tisdale had 14, Jereme Richmond 12 and D.J. Richardson 11.

North Carolina center Tyler Zeller picked up three early fouls and spent more than 9 minutes of the first half on the bench while the Illini built a 37-30 halftime lead.

John Henson led the Tar Heels (4-3) with 16 points while Zeller finished with 10.

Illinois opened the second half with a dunk by Davis, a basket by Richmond and two points from Tisdale to stretch what had been a seven-point halftime lead to 43-32 less than 2 minutes into the second half.

No. 23 Washington 102, Long Beach St. 75

SEATTLE (AP) - C.J. Wilcox made six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 20 points, leading seven Washington players in double figures, and the Huskies topped 100 points for the third time this season.

After losing to two Top 10 teams in the Maui Invitational, the Huskies (4-2) rebounded by beating up on the 49ers.

Wilcox, a redshirt freshman, made 6 of 8 3-point attempts. Isaiah Thomas added 19 points, despite missing all six of his 3-point attempts, and Abdul Gaddy and Matthew Bryan-Amaning both added 14 points.

Casper Ware led Long Beach State (3-4) with 18 points and T.J. Robinson had 15.

Washington went with 7-footer Aziz N'Diaye in the starting lineup place of Bryan-Amaning and the move seemed to energize the Huskies, who hit five of their first six shots and jumped to a 10-2 lead that grew to as many as 17 points in the first half.

No. 25 Notre Dame 81, Indiana St. 72

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Ben Hansbrough scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half to lead Notre Dame.

The Irish (8-0) are off to the best start in the 11 seasons under coach Mike Brey. The last time the Irish accomplished the feat was in 1973-74 when that squad went 12-0.

All five Notre Dame starters scored in double figures. Tyrone Nash had 16 points, Scott Martin 15, Tim Abromaitis 13 and Carleton Scott 11.

Dwayne Lathan had 22 points for the Sycamores (3-4), while Jake Kelly added 17, Carl Richard 14 and Myles Walker.

Notre Dame used a 7-2 run to take a 38-33 halftime lead.
