CBKB: Kansas edges UCLA

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Mario Little hit a free throw with seven-tenths of a second remaining, lifting No. 4 Kansas to a 77-76 victory over UCLA on Thursday night, extending the Jayhawks' team-record string of homecourt wins.

Tyler Honeycutt had 33 points for UCLA, including a 3-pointer with 5 seconds to go that tied the score at 76-76.

But Malcom Lee was called for a foul when Little attempted a desperation heave and the officials, after conferring at the scorer's table, sent him to the line.

He made the first foul shot but missed the second. Honeycutt's crosscourt hurl toward the UCLA basket was off line, giving the Jayhawks (7-0) their narrowest victory in a 64-game home court winning streak.

It was one of the few times Honeycutt missed as he finished 11 of 15 from the field, including 5 for 6 from the 3-point line.

Tyshawn Taylor and Tyrel Reed both had 17 points for Kansas.

Joshua Smith, the 305-pound center for the Bruins (3-3), had 17 points and 13 rebounds.

No. 9 Missouri 83, Oregon 80

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Marcus Denmon scored 19 points and Missouri held on in a Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series game.

Kim English had 12 points for the Tigers (6-1), who nearly blew all of their 20-point halftime lead. Ricardo Ratliffe and Michael Dixon added 11 points each for Missouri and Matt Pressey had 10 points.

E.J. Singler scored a career-high 19 points for the Ducks (4-3), who trailed 44-24 at halftime but shot 62.1 percent from the field and made 8 of 15 3-pointers in the second half. Freshman Johnathan Loyd made two 3s in the final 14 seconds, the second of which cut the Tigers' lead to 82-80 with 8 seconds to play.

But Dixon made 1 of 2 free throws with 5.3 seconds left, and the Ducks missed on a last-ditch effort to tie the game as time ran out.

Loyd, Jay-R Strowbridge and Joevan Catron all had 15 points for the Ducks.

No. 11 Baylor 68, Arizona St. 54

WACO, Texas (AP) - LaceDarius Dunn had six 3-pointers and finished with 24 points as Baylor stretched its home winning streak to 11 games.

Dunn made all of his 3-pointers before bruising his left forearm when he fell hard to the court going for an offensive rebound with 6:43 left. He was on the court writhing in pain, then went to the bench, where he kept rubbing his arm and grimacing before returning 2 minutes later. He was still hurting when he got back in the game.

It was only Dunn's third game this season for Baylor (6-0).

Rihards Kuksiks hit consecutive 3-pointers for Arizona State (3-3) in the opening minute of the second half to tie the game at 33. Dunn responded with a 3-pointer, the first of his two in a quick 7-2 run that gave Baylor the lead for good.

Dunn, the leading scorer last season when Baylor made it to an NCAA regional final and had a school-record 28 wins, was suspended for the first three games of the season after a domestic dispute charge earlier this fall.
