RENO (AP) - Washoe County School District police say a student has been arrested and another is being questioned after a fire at a Reno school.
Authorities say the fire early Thursday at Elizabeth Lenz Elementary School was intentionally set in a multipurpose room that serves as a cafeteria and auditorium. A Reno newspaper reports damage was estimated at $25,000 to $75,000. A sprinkler system activated and helped contain the fire.
Fire officials responded to a fire alarm around 2 a.m.
School police Lt. Dale Richardson says a parent arrived at the scene with a student, who admitted involvement. The student was arrested on suspicion of burglary and damage to school property. The Reno Fire Department is handling the arson investigation.
