Doc Benton is introducing his Soda Springs water in Carson. It comes from a few miles above Falling Leaf Lake, and the saloons find heavy demand for it everywhere. It is a kind of water that a man wants all the while if he once gets the taste of it. They like the flavor of the beverage and say it beats all the medicine in the country.
100 YEARS AGO
The old camp of Aurora promises a future. A returning Carsonite tells of activities in the former famous mining center. Electric power is in sight. The power line has been run over the hill to Bodie and wires are being stretched to Lucky Boy, Rawhide and other camps.
70 YEARS AGO
By the end of the week Carson street may be a lane between two rows of silver-colored Christmas trees. The city board has placed the order with the V&T Shop for more than a hundred holders that can be screwed into the flag sockets on main's curbs for a distance of several blocks.

"No Place to Hide," a commentary on modern measurement from the cradle to the grave won Leon Cowan of Kit Carson Toastmasters the first prize at the Presbyterian conference grounds at Zephyr Cove.

The upper Carson river is a viable site for a proposed $140 million concrete Bodie Dam.

Three Northern Nevada tech companies are recognized by Inc. Magazine. In its December issue, Inc. ranked the Reno area as the fourth best small metropolitan area for starting or expanding a business.
