ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - After eight years as a caddie, Brett Waldman needs one himself now.
The caddie for Camilo Villegas has decided to play the Nationwide Tour next year instead of working for one of golf's top players. Waldman completed an amazing ride through Q-school by shooting a 68 in the sixth and final round.
It wasn't enough to get his PGA Tour card, but he is fully exempt on the Nationwide Tour.
He told Villegas of his decision Tuesday night.
Waldman had not played competitively in eight years when he decided to give Q-school a shot. He was among nine players who advanced through a pre-qualifier and two more stages to reach the final stage - while still working the Tour Championship and two tournaments overseas for Villegas.
