130 YEARS AGO

(Continued from Saturday) The cause of the war was the burning of William's Station on the Carson, by the Indians. They pointed out this spot and said that five men were killed, three of whom were burned in the cabin. It was the beastly outrage perpetrated on a Piute squaw by Williams that caused the tragedy.

100 YEARS AGO

This evening the children at the orphan's home will be given their annual Christmas tree and entertainment. A handsome tree has been decorated and it will be well loaded with toys and gifts for the orphan youngsters.

70 YEARS AGO

Royal Crowell was skating at the Dangberg reservoir last Sunday when he observed what he thought was open water on ice, but proved to be open water. Realizing his mistake, he quickly changed course of his small son's sled and in doing so, the boy lost his balance and was thrown into the water. Crowell jumped in to save the lad and luckily the water was only chest deep.

50 YEARS AGO

Holiday programs by the Ormsby schools will conclude tomorrow when the high school choirs present Christmas selections at the assembly. Director Al Saliman said the public is welcome.

20 YEARS AGO

An arctic airmass is holding Nevada in its grip sending the Carson area to a record low of minus 7.

Former Carson High standout Darrell Rasner is named to this year's pre-season All American squad by Collegiate Baseball.
