ELKO, Nev. (AP) - Work is progressing on a second highway overpass for deer in northern Nevada, but officials say depending on the weather, it might not be ready until spring.

The HD Summit crossing on U.S. 93 is about 20 miles north of Wells and will cost about $3.2 million.

A first elevated crossing called 10 Mile Summit was completed earlier.

Both are in major deer migration routes

The Elko Daily Free Press reports the Nevada Department of Transportation also built three passes under the highway for animal crossing to reduce the number of vehicle crashes.
