The Carson Nugget rings in the New Year Friday, Dec. 31, with a daylong celebration marked by cash and prize giveaways and followed by a party hosted by Sherrill Douglas, renown Patsy Cline impersonator with "Come Walkin' After Midnight," a party like no other in Nevada's capital city.

"I will be dressed as Patsy and will have some costume changes throughout the evening, but besides her songs, which I love, I will also be singing a wide range of music, including some by Gretchen Wilson, Shania Twain, Tammy Wynette and other country greats, as well as a lot of classic rock 'n' roll, including Creedence Clearwater Revival, Linda Ronstadt, Bette Midler. ... a lot of great, feel-good music that will remind everyone of happy times and memories."

Above all else, Sherrill said the main focus, besides putting on a great show and inviting everyone's participation, is that they all have a great time and for at least a few hours, let go of the daily business and stresses of life.

"The evening will be a celebration of music, life and new beginnings; we're all gonna sing, dance and laugh ... let the negative things go," she said. "I refuse in my life, to be buried in sorrow and everyone there will be taken away by the music, be in the moment and keep the faith."

Widely known as a powerhouse impersonator of Cline, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Stevie Nicks, Douglas is an acclaimed tribute artist, musician, original recording artist, songwriter and actress. She has performed worldwide and is known as "The Voice of Many Faces."™ She is also a top 10 original recording artist in Europe on the European Country Music Association charts and has released two original country and gospel/Christmas CDs.

Douglas began singing Cline's songs as a child in order to please her father at the age of 10 and "got serious," buying her first guitar, at 12. She is recognized as America's greatest impersonator of the iconic Cline and has, like the original, a four octave range allowing her to sing Cline's songs as originally presented. Her range also gives her a unique ability to perform an array of music from many different genres.

But she is nothing if not humble, about her incredible talent.

"I don't ever remember a time when I didn't sing .... I may have come out singing," Douglas said. "I am a consummate professional and regardless of whether I am doing a show for 4,000 or 60 old people at a care facility, I give them my all. That's what they deserve.

"My singing is not something separate from who I am, it is who I am. The gift comes from God ... I am simply doing His work."

"Come Walkin' After Midnight" live tribute show to Patsy Cline and more, takes place in the second floor ballroom. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., followed by entertainment from 8-11 p.m. Tickets cost $35 and include hors d'oeuvres and two drinks. For tickets go to ccnugget.com.
