Healing to be discussed at service

Western Nevadans are invited to learn about the "The Secret of Healing" at a worship service at 10 a.m. Jan. 15, Carson City Community Center, Roop and Williams streets. The session is sponsored by Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God.

During this one-hour free session, a skilled facilitator will give a brief talk, followed by readings, a small-group discussion and a short contemplation.

The Dixie Melody Boys to be featured

Popular gospel music quartet, The Dixie Melody Boys, will be featured at the Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church in Carson City at 7 p.m. Jan. 11, sharing their unique, four-part harmony.

Since organizing over four decades ago, The Dixie Melody Boys have enjoyed much success, including a Grammy nomination and numerous Fan Award nominations from The Singing News Magazine, Southern Gospel Music's leading fan and trade publication.

Women's group to meet in Reno

Sierra Christian Women's Club will meet 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 18 at Tamarack Junction banquet area, 13101 S. Virginia St., Reno (please park on north side of building).

Guest Speaker is Jan Villott, world traveler and thrill seeker, talks about her "Adventure of a Lifetime" and finding the travel companion she could trust
