Gas prices drop, but still higher than 2009

(AP) - Average gasoline prices in Nevada have fallen 6 cents since January, with some locations seeing declines as much as 14 cents.

AAA says the average price for a gallon of self-serve unleaded fell to $2.79 statewide. That's still 63 cents higher than it was at this time last year.

The national average declined 11 cents to $2.64.

AAA says prices fell 14 cents in Sparks to $2.81; 12 cents in Carson City to $2.76; and 10 cents in Reno to $2.83.

Prices fell a nickel in Las Vegas to $2.75; and 4 cents in both Henderson and North Las Vegas.

Elko saw the only increase in the state. The price there rose 3 cents to $2.86.
