LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a man accused of a fatal ax attack that killed a 4-month-old boy in a stroller and critically injured the child's mother told investigators he doesn't remember a thing.
Police Lt. Lewis Roberts says 33-year-old Harold E. Montague didn't know the woman and the child he's accused of attacking about noon Thursday on a residential street east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
Police say the woman is hospitalized in with serious head injuries after being hit several times in the face and head with a medieval-style battle ax.
Roberts says Montague stabbed another woman he was supposed to be caring for in a home where he was living. She's also hospitalized.
Police say an officer received minor injuries arresting Montague.
