LAS VEGAS (AP) - The condition of one of victims in a deadly attack by an ax-wielding man is improving.
University Medical Center officials listed Monica O'Dazier in good condition Sunday.
She was stabbed more than 20 times Thursday with the pointed end of a medieval-style battle ax that police allege was wielded by her 33-year-old brother-in-law Harold E. Montague.
Police charge that following the attack on O'Dazier, Montague ran outside the Las Vegas home and used the ax to kill 4-month-old Damian Avila Castro and critically injure the woman believed to be his mother, Sandra Castro. The hospital would not provide an update to her condition.
Montague is in jail and authorities are trying to determine the motive behind the violence.
