Obituary: Inez A. Solaga

Inez A. Solaga, 93, passed away Feb. 15, 2010, in a Reno nursing home. She was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Virginia City and was a lifelong resident of the Comstock. She is the daughter of Italian parents Enrico and Chiara Giuffra. Her father was employed by the Virginia and Truckee Railroad from 1909 to 1939. She attended the Fourth Ward School and graduated in 1934. She also graduated from Reno Business College. Inez worked for the Comstock Wood and Coal Co. She was deputy county recorder from 1966 to 1971 and served two terms as Storey County recorder and auditor from 1971 to 1978. She was a member of the Virginia City Alumni Association and the Storey County Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter Inez Frady of Virginia City; granddaughter Denise and great-granddaughter Kenlie. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday Feb. 20 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, 1281 N. Roop St. (first block north of Hwy 50), Carson City. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Inez's name to the Storey County Senior Center.
