'OH! MY BONNETS AND BUSTLES!'
The Victorian Fashion Show and Dance is sponsored by Friends of the Nevada State Museum and the Carson City Historical Society. I appreciate vintage clothing and this event promises a peek into the Victorian styles highlighting women's fashions from the 1860s through the 1890s, roughly the same time period that Queen Victoria reigned in Britain. Guests are encouraged to dress in their own period costumes and participate in the dancing. If you're looking for an event with a lot of style, here it is. It is fashion week.

Youth Football and Cheerleading
It has felt like spring, which usually makes be think think baseball. Kyme Brown reminded me there are also Carson Pop Warner and Cheerleading sign ups coming up too. Carson Pop Warner is the oldest youth football and cheerleading program in Northern Nevada. Each season, Carson Pop Warner provides tackle football and cheerleading activities to approximately 350 boys and girls between the ages of 5-15. Practice starts Monday, Aug. 2. If you're interested in volunteering or coaching you can go online and get the form to help the children that participate and make great memories. Kevin Holmes reminded me of all the cupcakes he ate after every game. Volunteer - it makes all the difference to a child.
