LOS ANGELES - Flowers and candles marked the spot in west Los Angeles Friday where a 13-year-old girl was struck and killed as she crossed the street to board her school bus.

Julia Siegler was crossing against a red light when she was hit, police said late Friday. She was struck first by a driver who appeared to brush her with a sideview mirror, causing her to lose her balance. She was then struck by a second vehicle driven by a juvenile who ran over her, police said. Siegler died at a hospital.

The driver of the first vehicle stopped to talk to the Harvard-Westlake Middle School student's mother before driving away but did not identify himself, police Cmdr. Andrew Smith said. A black Toyota also stopped at the scene but left before police arrived.

Police announced late Friday that they had located both vehicles and were interviewing the drivers. No arrests have been made.
