Fund set up for victims of house fire

A fund has been set up to help a Carson City family who lost their home to fire the day after Christmas.

According to the family, discarded fireplace ash in a trash bin in the garage destroyed the Lopes family home in west Carson City on Dec. 26.

While the garage and two upstairs bedrooms sustained fire damage, the entire home was affected by water and smoke damage.
