Gordon Willard Ritter, 51 of Carson City and formerly of Linwood, N.J., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
A beloved father, son, brother and uncle, Gordon spent his life working and playing hard. He radiated energy and life and was always ready with a smile and a joke. The lights of his life were his children Kristin and Douglas with whom he loved spending time.
Gordon enjoyed riding motorcycles both on and off road. He also enjoyed camping and doing projects around the house. Gordon worked for 22 years at Lakeside Inn and Casino in Lake Tahoe where he was a valued and much loved employee by staff and customers alike.
He is survived by his children Kristin and Douglas Ritter; his parents Gordon Ritter of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and Elizabeth Ritter of Smithville, N.J.; his siblings Dawn Ritter and her husband Mark Heyman of Mays Landing, N.J., Susan and her husband Jeff Speirs of Linwood, N.J., Julia Ritter of Metuchen, N.J., Matthew Ritter of San Diego, Calif., and his nieces and nephew Erin and Evan Heyman and Valerie Speirs.
The viewing will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11 at FitzHenry's Funeral Home at 3945 Fairview Drive, Carson City. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers my be sent for the benefit of Kristin and Douglas Ritter to: Wells Fargo Bank, account number 2527752949.
